Did you know?

It comes from a renowned nursery specializing in alpine plants.

Sempervivum Thomayeri is a clone originating from a renowned nursery specialising in alpine plants. It closely resembles a cultivar of unknown origin known as “Opitz”. This houseleek forms olive-coloured, velvety rosettes with a calm and balanced appearance, and the colouring may change slightly during the year according to the seasons.

It is best grown in a sunny position in a well-draining, mainly mineral substrate that should not remain waterlogged for long periods. It is suitable for rock gardens, dry stone walls and containers with drainage, and tolerates year-round outdoor cultivation. The plant is monocarpic, meaning the mother rosette dies after flowering, but it produces new rosettes beforehand, ensuring the continuation of the planting. Thanks to its velvety olive rosettes, it is an appealing choice for collectors of less common houseleeks.
