The Sunkist is a descendant of the Cleveland Morgan variety and was selected in 1975 by Edward Skrocki from the USA.

Sempervivum Sunkist is a cultivar bred by Edward Skrocki from the United States of America in 1975. It forms rosettes with fresh green, velvety-textured leaves tipped with brown colouring. The contrast is subtle, and the colouring changes during the year according to the seasons.

It is best grown in a sunny position in a well-draining, predominantly mineral substrate that should not remain waterlogged for long periods. It is suitable for rock gardens, dry stone walls and containers with drainage, and tolerates year-round outdoor cultivation. The plant is monocarpic, meaning the mother rosette dies after flowering, but it produces offsets beforehand, ensuring the continuation of the planting. Thanks to its velvety foliage, it works well alongside more intensely coloured houseleeks.
