Did you know?

The name "Spiralnebel" means "spiral fog" in German — a reference to the delicate, spiraling rosettes and their mysterious, misty, fluffy appearance.

Sempervivum Spiralnebel is a cultivar bred by Martin Haberer from Germany in 2004 and belongs to the S. arachnoideum group. This houseleek forms small rosettes about 3–4 cm in size, green in colour and overlaid with delicate pink and white webbing. The appearance of the rosettes changes slightly during the year according to the seasons.

It is best grown in a sunny position in a well-draining, mainly mineral substrate that should not remain waterlogged for long periods. It is suitable for rock gardens, dry stone walls and shallow containers with drainage, and tolerates year-round outdoor cultivation. The plant is monocarpic, meaning the mother rosette dies after flowering, but it produces new rosettes beforehand, ensuring the continuation of the planting. Thanks to its small rosettes and fine webbing, it is a good choice for detailed plantings and collector houseleek collections.
