TIP for you:

The plants love full sun – the more light, the more intense the color of the rosettes. In partial shade, they may lose their distinctive tones.

Sempervivum Smog is a cultivar bred by Stanislav Šašek from the Czech Republic in 1986. This houseleek forms medium-sized rosettes with noticeably long, narrow and sharply pointed leaves. The colouring is rather light and muted, reflecting the name of the cultivar, yet it remains valuable even among more strongly coloured varieties. The shades change during the year according to the seasons.

It is best grown in a sunny position in a well-draining, predominantly mineral substrate, where prolonged waterlogging should be avoided. It is suitable for rock gardens, dry stone walls and containers with drainage, and tolerates year-round outdoor cultivation. The plant is monocarpic, meaning the mother rosette dies after flowering, but it produces offsets that ensure the continuation of the clump. Thanks to its Czech origin and distinctive appearance, it deserves a place in any collection.
