TIP for you:

A newer variety with really strong rosettes: the purple bases of the leaves gradually transition into creamy green tips. It grows quickly and reliably.

Sempervivum Kiara is a cultivar bred by Volkmar Schara from Germany in 1998. This houseleek forms rosettes with a pinkish-purple base colour, strongly contrasted by light green leaf tips. The contrast between the two colours is very pronounced, while the overall colouring changes during the year according to the seasons.

It is best grown in a sunny position in a well-draining, mainly mineral substrate, where long-term waterlogging should be avoided. It is suitable for rock gardens, dry stone walls and containers with drainage, and tolerates year-round outdoor cultivation. The plant is monocarpic, meaning the mother rosette dies after flowering, but it produces new rosettes beforehand, ensuring the continued growth of the clump. Thanks to its strong colour contrast, it stands out clearly among other houseleek cultivars.
