Tip for you:

This variety originates from the limestone gorges of Gorges Supérieures du Cians in southern France, where it grows literally in crevices in rocks exposed to the sun and strong mountain winds.

Sempervivum Gorges Supérieures du Cians is a houseleek named after the Gorges Supérieures du Cians in the Alpes-Maritimes region of France. It forms larger green rosettes with firm leaves and a compact overall shape, and the colouring changes during the year according to the seasons.

It is best grown in a sunny position in a well-draining, mainly mineral substrate, where prolonged waterlogging should be avoided. It is suitable for rock gardens, dry stone walls and containers with good drainage, and tolerates year-round outdoor cultivation. The plant is monocarpic, meaning the mother rosette dies after flowering, but it produces new rosettes beforehand, ensuring the continuation of the clump. Thanks to its larger green rosettes, it is a good choice for growers who prefer houseleeks with more pronounced forms.
