Undemanding houseleek suitable for rock gardens, dry walls, and shallow containers, where it tolerates drought and frost well.
Sempervivum Gold Aub is a cultivar with an unknown breeder. This houseleek forms well-shaped rosettes with light green to yellow-green colouring, complemented by reddish leaf tips. The leaf margins are finely hairy, giving the rosette a soft, slightly velvety appearance. The colouring changes during the year according to the seasons and growing conditions.
It is best grown in a sunny position in a well-draining, mainly mineral substrate that should not remain waterlogged for long periods. It is suitable for rock gardens, dry stone walls and containers with drainage, and tolerates year-round outdoor cultivation. The plant is monocarpic, meaning the mother rosette dies after flowering, but it produces new rosettes beforehand, ensuring the continuation of the planting. Thanks to its bright colouring and regular form, it is a good choice for adding contrast to a houseleek collection.
