Nicholas Moore is a renowned British Sempervivum breeder whose Fire Glint cultivar dates back to 1960.
Sempervivum Fire Glint is a cultivar bred by Nicholas Moore from the United Kingdom in 1960. This houseleek forms large rosettes with brownish-red colouring and produces many offsets, allowing it to spread readily into wider clumps. The colour expression changes during the year according to the seasons.
It is best grown in a sunny position in a well-draining, mainly mineral substrate, where prolonged waterlogging should be avoided. It is suitable for rock gardens, dry stone walls and containers with drainage, and tolerates year-round outdoor cultivation. The plant is monocarpic, meaning the mother rosette dies after flowering, but thanks to the production of numerous offsets, the planting remains intact. Thanks to its larger rosettes and strong offsetting, it is well suited for quickly covering an area.
