TIP for you:

Dense cushions of small rosettes in spring and summer shine with bronze-pink hues.

Sempervivum Bronze Pastel is a cultivar bred by Nicholas Moore from the United Kingdom in 1953. The parents are S. marmoreum ssp. erythraeum from the Rilagebirge Mountains and S. Bitter Chocolate. It forms dense cushions composed of many small rosettes, which show rich bronze-brown colouring with pink tones in spring and summer. This is an older cultivar whose colouring changes during the year according to the seasons.

It is best grown in a sunny position in a well-draining, mainly mineral substrate, where long-term waterlogging must be avoided. It is suitable for rock gardens, dry stone walls and containers with drainage, and it tolerates common weather conditions well. The plant is monocarpic: after flowering, the mother rosette dies, but during growth it produces numerous offsets that ensure the continuation of the clump. Thanks to its proven origin and stable colouring, it remains a worthwhile cultivar to grow even today.
