Sedum sediforme var. dianium is found in the wild in the Mediterranean region, from Portugal to Morocco to the Middle East such as Syria and Israel. The stiff leaves turn a blue-grey colour and sometimes take on a reddish tinge. This robust perennial herb has woody stems. The stonecrop grows relatively quickly and forms shrubs. It produces white flowers at flowering time.
These plants are hardy, requiring only minimal attention and care. The succulent should be repotted once in a while to give it enough nutrients for its growth. It is suitable for the rock garden or in portable containers, and as long as it has sufficient light and permeable soil, it can live in very inhospitable conditions. Water only during prolonged droughts and usually do not water in winter.
