Sedum reflexum Angelina, botanically listed as Petrosedum rupestre Angelina, is a well-known cultivar of Sedum rupestre. This stonecrop is valued mainly for its bright yellow foliage and belongs among popular frost-hardy rock garden plants suitable for outdoor planting.
The plant forms dense mat-like growth with heavily branched, trailing stems. The needle-shaped leaves have a vivid golden-yellow colour, which is most intense during the growing season. In autumn and winter, the foliage often shifts into red-orange tones, allowing the plant to remain striking even outside the main season. The mat usually reaches around 15 cm in height.
The flowers are star-shaped, bright yellow, and appear during summer in terminal clusters. Flowering enhances the overall colour effect and adds a seasonal highlight to rock garden plantings.
Sedum reflexum Angelina is an undemanding species well suited for rock gardens, stone walls, and portable containers with well-drained soil. It tolerates full sun and drier conditions very well, and thanks to its golden foliage it quickly draws attention in outdoor plantings. It is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a reliable stonecrop with a strong seasonal colour change.
