The plant likes a sunny location.

Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter.

Reportedly down to -34.4 °C. The plant is partially frost-resistant.

TIP for you:

It surprises with its resilience: even in severe frosts, it remains reliably alive and recovers quickly.

Sedum humifusum, also known as Creeping Stonecrop, originates from the mountainous regions of Mexico in the state of Querétaro. In nature, it occurs in areas with low vegetation and is valued for its creeping growth habit and ability to form continuous ground-covering mats.

The leaves are dark green, ovate to almost round, only about 0.15 cm long, and strongly ciliate along the margins. In full sun and cooler conditions, they can turn bright red. The plant forms a very low, dense carpet of overlapping shoots and reaches a maximum height of around 2.5 cm.

The flowers are yellow, star-shaped, and can reach up to about 1 cm in diameter. They appear on short, upright stems that rise above the low foliage.

Sedum humifusum is suitable as a groundcover plant for containers with a well-draining substrate. Watering is recommended during prolonged dry periods, while the soil should not remain waterlogged for long. It is a miniature stonecrop that can tolerate frost, although it is advisable to protect it in winter or move it indoors.
