Sedum album var. micranthum
The plant likes full sun. It is suitable for rock gardens or portable containers.
Water the plant in a pot after the substrate has dried out. When placed in a rock garden, water as needed.
The plant is frost-resistant and can withstand temperatures down to -34.4 °C.
Typical are small, fleshy, pea-shaped leaves, which give the plant an inconspicuous but very natural character.
Sedum album var. micranthum is a small-leaved form of the widespread species Sedum album (white stonecrop). It belongs among undemanding frost-hardy rock garden succulents suitable for outdoor planting. Compared to typical forms, it is characterised by a finer structure and very low growth.
The plant is composed of tiny, fleshy leaves that are almost round to obovate in shape. Leaves reach approximately 6 mm in length and about 3 mm in width, forming a dense, carpet-like mat. Creeping stems gradually spread sideways, creating compact green cushions close to the ground.
The flowers are very small, with petals up to around 3 mm long, often showing a slight reddish tint. They appear on low flowering stems and complement the delicate character of this form.
Sedum album var. micranthum is an easy and reliable species for rock gardens, dry stone walls, and portable containers with well-drained soil. Thanks to its miniature habit and low growth, it is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a finer and more compact form of white stonecrop for outdoor plantings.
