Pelargonium abrotanifolium
Place in a sunny location, but it can also tolerate partial shade.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter.
The plant is not frost-resistant.
It also occurs at higher altitudes of up to around 2,200 m, so it is accustomed to significant temperature fluctuations.
Pelargonium abrotanifolium is a small pelargonium species with a delicate, compact growth habit. It is grown mainly for its fine texture and distinctive foliage.
The leaves are small, deeply divided, soft, and grey-green in colour. They grow on thin, partially woody stems that may spread slightly, giving the plant a light and airy appearance.
The flowers are small and white, marked with a striking purplish-red pattern on the upper petals. They appear singly or in small numbers and contrast gently with the foliage.
Pelargonium abrotanifolium prefers a bright position and a well-drained substrate. Water moderately, allowing the soil to partially dry between waterings. It is a subtle but interesting species, well suited to small pots and collections of botanical pelargoniums.
