Place in a sunny location. If possible, the plant can be moved outdoors during the summer.

Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter.

It can withstand temperatures as low as -6.7 °C for short periods. However, the plant is not frost-resistant.

TIP for you:

Kalanchoe Rubinea captivates with its colorful leaves, which deepen significantly into wine-red hues in the sun.

Kalanchoe Rubinea is a horticultural cultivar grown mainly for its intense red coloration of the leaves. Its botanical background is derived from African species that naturally grow on rocky slopes in shade and partial shade, where they receive plenty of light without excessive heat stress.

The plant has firm, fleshy leaves with serrated margins, covered with a waxy layer that gives them a glossy appearance. The base green color blends smoothly into ruby-red tones, whose intensity changes throughout the year depending on light conditions. Growth is upright at first, later becoming slightly spreading and shrub-like. In containers, the plant remains compact and easy to manage.

The flowers are yellowish-green to yellow and appear during winter and spring. They are arranged in richly branched inflorescences that rise above the foliage and create a strong contrast with the dark-colored leaves.

This succulent prefers a bright position and tolerates full sun well, where its coloration develops best. The substrate should be well-draining, and watering should be moderate, avoiding waterlogging. As a houseplant, it can be easily placed outdoors during summer, for example on a balcony or windowsill, where its deep red tones stand out most clearly.
