Kalanchoe Lucky Bells is a cultivar grown primarily as a flowering houseplant. The exact origin of this cultivar is not known. It belongs to the group of kalanchoes in which flowering is the main focus of cultivation.
The plant produces upright, sturdy stems with fleshy green leaves. The leaves are elongated to obovate in shape, with a distinctly serrated margin that may show a slight reddish tint. Overall, the plant has a compact, bushy appearance.
The main feature of this cultivar is its red, bell-shaped flowers. To induce flowering, a shortened day length is required. This can be achieved by regularly covering the plant or placing it in a dark space for part of the day, thereby simulating shorter daylight conditions.
Kalanchoe Lucky Bells prefers a bright position and a well-drained substrate with careful watering. The soil should be allowed to dry between waterings. Thanks to its compact growth and low maintenance requirements, it is suitable as a common houseplant for a bright windowsill.
