It is fully frost-resistant and can withstand temperatures down to –34.4 °C.

Did you know?

The name of this cultivar refers to Mount Baker, a striking, glacier-covered mountain in Washington State.

Jovibarba heuffelii Mount Baker is a cultivar bred by André Smits from Belgium in 2001. It forms small rosettes with ovate leaves that are shortly pointed. The leaf bases are light green to yellow, while the tips are bright red, creating a clear colour contrast across the rosette.

It is grown in a sunny position in a well-draining, predominantly mineral substrate, where prolonged waterlogging should be avoided. It is suitable for rock gardens, dry stone walls and containers with drainage, and is well suited for year-round outdoor cultivation. Thanks to its small rosettes and contrasting colours, it fits well into finely structured plantings.
