Jovibarba heuffelii Eleta
The plant likes full sun. It is suitable for the rock garden or portable containers.
In a pot, water after the substrate has dried out. When placing in a rock garden, water at your own discretion.
The plant is frost hardy, withstanding temperatures down to -34.4 °C.
For beautiful, firm rosettes, make sure the plant gets plenty of light and excellent drainage – standing water is its biggest enemy.
Jovibarba heuffelii Eleta is a cultivar bred by Gaston Wuyts from Belgium in 1999. It forms small to medium-sized rosettes with colouring that transitions from light beige-pink tones to velvety purple shades, with distinctly light to green leaf margins as a prominent feature. The colouring changes during the year according to the seasons.
It is best grown in a sunny position in a well-draining, predominantly mineral substrate, where prolonged waterlogging should be avoided. It is suitable for rock gardens, dry stone walls and containers with drainage, and tolerates year-round outdoor cultivation. Thanks to the contrast between the leaf centres and their light margins, it stands out clearly among other cultivars.
