Jovibarba heuffelii Compacta is a cultivar bred by Cornelis Versteeg from the Netherlands in 2000. It forms relatively small rosettes up to about 5 cm in size that grow together into very compact clumps. The leaves are wedge-shaped and light green with reddish tips, and the colouring changes during the year according to the seasons.

It is best grown in a sunny position in a well-draining, predominantly mineral substrate, where prolonged waterlogging should be avoided. It is suitable for rock gardens, dry stone walls and containers with drainage, and tolerates year-round outdoor cultivation. The plant is monocarpic, meaning the mother rosette dies after flowering, but it produces offsets beforehand to ensure continued growth. Thanks to its very compact habit, it is well suited even for smaller plantings.
