Named after Swedish botanist Carl von Linné.

Jovibarba heuffelii Carl von Linne is a cultivar bred by Cornelis Versteeg from the Netherlands in 2001. It is named after the Swedish botanist Carl von Linné (1707–1778). It forms small rosettes with yellow-green colouring that gradually shifts into pink to red tones. The colouring changes during the year according to the seasons.

It is best grown in a sunny position in a well-draining, predominantly mineral substrate, where prolonged waterlogging should be avoided. It is suitable for rock gardens, dry stone walls and containers with drainage, and tolerates year-round outdoor cultivation. The plant is monocarpic, meaning the mother rosette dies after flowering, but it produces offsets beforehand to ensure continued growth. Thanks to its variable colouring and historical name, it is an appealing choice for collectors.
