Did you know?

Splash refers to silver spots on leaves caused by uneven distribution of chlorophyll.

Hoya kerrii Splash is a rare, speckled form of Hoya kerrii, often known as the sweetheart hoya. The plant is also nicknamed the Valentine plant thanks to its distinctive heart-shaped leaves. In nature, the species occurs in Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam.

The leaves are thick, fleshy, and strongly succulent, with the characteristic heart shape. The base colour is deep green, complemented by silvery or lighter splash-like markings that give the plant a unique appearance. The leaf surface is glossy to waxy, and the stems may become partially woody with age. Over time, the plant develops trailing or climbing shoots and can gradually grow into a larger specimen.

Flowering is rather uncommon, but under good conditions the plant may produce creamy to soft pink star-shaped flowers typical of the genus Hoya.

Hoya kerrii Splash is an undemanding houseplant best grown in a bright position with careful watering and a well-drained substrate. It tolerates occasional misting and light feeding during the growing season. Thanks to its rare variegation and iconic leaf shape, it is an excellent choice for anyone looking to add a truly exceptional and long-lived Hoya to their collection.
