This is a very tough succulent. The only thing to watch out for is sunburn from direct sun. We therefore prefer to grow the plant in partial shade.
Haworthia heidelbergensis variegata is a colourful form of Haworthia from South Africa. It grows in the Heidelberg region, from which it takes its name.
The dark green leaves have cream, yellow and white variegation. This can appear as stripes, speckled patterns or colour the entire leaf. The very fleshy leaves arrange themselves in rosettes and form new lateral rosettes from their base. The small succulent grows rather close to the ground and colours with interesting variations and patterns, which is why the plant has gained popularity among growers.
The flowers grow on tall stems. However, the variegated form does not normally flower.
Care should be taken when growing it, especially in direct sunlight, so as not to scorch the leaves. Do not water the plant during peak heat. It can be lightly fertilised if deemed appropriate, but this is not necessary. This is a relatively rare succulent that will be appreciated by collectors. Moreover, each piece is original and the interesting pattern makes the individual plants quite different from each other. In addition to its attractiveness, Haworthia heidelbergensis variegata is hardy and easy to grow, making it a great choice for beginners and experienced growers alike.
