Did you know?

The name "Lime" refers to the fresh green to yellow-green color of the leaves.

Echeveria hookeri Lime is a slightly different colour form of Echeveria hookeri, differing from the original form only by a lighter, faintly lime-toned shade of the leaves. Echeveria hookeri is sometimes called Little Jewel and is often placed in the genus Pachyveria under names such as Pachyveria glauca or Pachyveria bea. Its origin is not entirely clear, and it may represent an intergeneric hybrid.

The thick, cylindrical leaves are covered with a fine farina that gives the plant its characteristic frosted appearance. In the Lime form, the colouring shifts into paler tones, sometimes with a subtle greenish hue. The plant forms firm, low-growing rosettes that gradually expand with age. Side offsets develop from the rosettes, and over time a compact clump may form.

Echeveria hookeri Lime produces flowers on a taller stalk that can reach around 20 cm in length. The blooms are pinkish on the outside and peach-coloured inside, adding a pleasant contrast during the flowering period.

Fertilising is generally not recommended for this succulent. It can also be propagated easily from individual leaves, and the Lime form extends the range of slightly different colour variants within this species. Echeveria hookeri Lime is a fine choice for growers looking for a frosted echeveria in a lighter shade.
