TIP for you:

The plant is covered with fine, soft hairs. They can be found on the stem and leaves. The interesting flat stalk also adds to the pleasantness of the touch.

Echeveria harmsii cristata, also known as Plush Plant, is a cultivar of succulent plant native to Mexico, from the states of Hidalgo and Oaxaca. The specific epithet "harmsii" honors the German botanist Hermann August Theodor Harms (1870-1942). This crested form is not very widespread and is rather difficult to find.

The plush plant boasts light green leaves with red margins at the end. The leaves are covered with fine hairs that give the plant a soft touch without obscuring its beautiful green color. The small, fleshy and narrow leaves grow up to 3 cm long and are tucked close together. Over time, the newest parts of the stem turn rust-coloured and woody. The whole plant is covered with short hairs, as are its leaves. The succulent can grow up to 30 cm tall. Most of its height is made up of flat stems, which become woody over time.

Unlike the classic form of Echeveria harmsii, the cristate form does not normally flower.

It is a relatively hardy plant that can tolerate both waterlogging and drought. Compared to other cristate Echeveria, it grows quite quickly and as a result it is not advisable to fertilize the plant. Due to its soft appearance and hardiness, this plant is becoming increasingly popular and will become a standout piece in any succulent collection.
