TIP for you:

It is known as the Tree Echeveria and, thanks to its upright growth, resembles small palm trees.

Echeveria harmsii is a small houseplant known by the nickname Plush Plant. The epithet harmsii honours Hermann August Theodor Harms (1870–1942), a German botanist and taxonomist.

The plant forms rosettes of pale green leaves with red edging at the tips. The leaves are thick, fleshy, narrow, and softly covered with fine hairs, reaching up to about 3 cm in length. The stems are brown and also hairy, and over time the plant can grow up to around 30 cm in height, reaching a similar width as it branches. In appearance it can resemble a little plush shrub or tiny palm-like form.

The flowers are bell-shaped, bright red with yellow tips. They appear in spring on slender stalks with scattered leaves, and the flower stems may reach up to about 10 cm in length.

Echeveria harmsii grows best in a bright position with well-draining soil and careful watering. Because of its hairy leaves, it is better to water at the base and avoid wetting the foliage. We also offer a crested form with an even more unusual growth habit. Echeveria harmsii is a fine choice for growers looking for a smaller echeveria with striking flowers and a soft “plush” appearance.
