The plant loves a sunny spot. It can be moved outdoors during the summer — place it in full sun starting in spring and bring it indoors for the winter.

Always wait a few days after the soil has dried out before watering again. Reduce watering during the winter.

Can briefly tolerate temperatures down to -1.1 °C. However, the plant is not frost-hardy.

TIP for you:

Give the plant as much light as possible while protecting it from prolonged overwatering. Plenty of light is key to maintaining its compact shape and highlighting the natural pink to reddish tones on its leaves.

Echeveria haagai Tolimanensis is a succulent plant from the stonecrop family (Crassulaceae), native to Mexico. It is primarily associated with the Barranca de Tolimán region in the Mexican state of Hidalgo, which is also the type locality for the species Echeveria tolimanensis.

The plant forms a compact rosette of thick, fleshy leaves. The leaves range from blue-green to grey-green and have a soft, frosted appearance thanks to a delicate waxy coating. When exposed to full sun, they can take on subtle pinkish, reddish, or brownish hues. The rosette remains low-growing and will offset over time, expanding into a wider cluster.

Bell-shaped flowers emerge on slender flower stalks in shades ranging from yellow and orange to reddish-orange. Depending on growing conditions, blooming usually occurs from late winter through spring.

Echeveria haagai Tolimanensis is an easy-care succulent ideal for container growing. It thrives best in a full-sun location, which helps maintain its compact growth and vibrant leaf coloration. Plant in a well-draining, predominantly mineral soil mix, and water only after the substrate has completely dried out. Reduce watering significantly during winter. With its compact rosette, plump leaves, and beautiful blue-green tone, it makes a lovely addition to any succulent collection.
