A sunny habitat is ideal.

Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In the winter, limit watering. In general, water moderately.

The plant can tolerate -6.7 °C in the short term.

TIP for you:

This succulent is particularly striking because of the distinctive black colour of its leaves. It is thus a colourful element of distinction in succulent collections.

Echeveria affinis, nicknamed Black Echeveria, is a charming succulent plant with dark leaves and bright red flowers. It is very similar to Echeveria Black Prince. It is found in the Mexican states of Durango and Sinaloa.

The leaves are brownish-leaved with a yellow-green base. In full sun, the leaves turn dark brown to almost black, giving them their characteristic appearance. They are firm, strongly fleshy and grow up to 5 cm long. The leaves form a ground rosette up to 10 cm across.

Echeveria affinis flowers most often in summer. The bell-shaped, bright red flowers appear in racemes on upright stems.

Care must be taken when watering to ensure that the substrate is not waterlogged for long periods. The plant can easily be propagated by rooting individual leaves. The unusual black colour of the leaves is particularly striking from a distance.
