TIP for you:

Succulent from Yemen is great for creating small succulent bonsai. It can be easily shaped, and the bonsai occasionally lights up with attractive flowers.

Delosperma harazianum is endemic to the southwestern Arabian Peninsula, where it grows mostly in western Yemen. It is found mainly in the mountains and its range extends in places into the nearby Asir region of Saudi Arabia. It is accustomed to sunny locations with wide fluctuations in temperature (both during the year and during the alternation of day and night), windy conditions and rocky ground.

The elongated greenish-grey leaves are covered with fine whitish scales. They are rounded triangular in cross-section and grow to a length of 1-2.5 cm. The thickened roots protrude above the substrate in places and form interesting formations. Overall, the succulent grows rather close to the ground and forms a tree-like shape.

From spring to autumn, it produces pinkish-purple flowers up to 2 cm across. They grow in waves and gradually fill out.

This self-pollinating plant can be propagated by seeding. It is suitable for shaping and creating small succulent bonsai. Delosperma harazianum is an attractive succulent with protruding roots, low growth and purple flowers.
