The plant likes sunny locations, but can also tolerate partial shade.

Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter.

It can withstand temperatures down to -1.1 °C for short periods. However, the plant is not frost-resistant.

TIP for you:

It is believed to be a hybrid, one of whose parents is Crassula sericea.

Crassula Velveta is a plant of uncertain origin, and it is considered to be possibly a hybrid form, with Crassula sericea suggested as one of the parent species. In cultivation it is mainly valued as a compact, shrubby Crassula with an unusual soft leaf surface.

The plant produces fleshy, velvety, rounded and slightly flattened light green leaves, covered with short fine hairs. It grows on firm upright stems that become woody with age and reaches a height of around 20 cm, forming a dense and sturdy small shrub.

During the winter period, small whitish flowers may appear at the tips of the stems. Although the flowers are tiny, they are rather attractive and provide interest at a time when many succulents remain dormant.

Crassula Velveta is an easy plant to grow in a bright position with well-draining soil. Its solid growth habit also suggests it can be shaped by pruning if a more compact form is desired. Crassula Velveta is a good choice for growers looking for a less common succulent with velvety foliage.
