Ideally, place in a sunny location. The plant can be kept outdoors during the summer.

Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter. Water regularly.

It can withstand temperatures as low as -3.9 °C for short periods. However, the plant is not frost-resistant.

TIP for you:

Sunny location will highlight the contrast between the mint green leaves and red edges.

Crassula Tom Thumb, also known as Crassula Klein Duimpje, is a hybrid Crassula named after the English “Tom Thumb”. This hybrid was discovered by W. J. Ruysch in the Netherlands and was created by crossing Crassula rupestris subsp. rupestris with Crassula rupestris subsp. marnieriana. It is a small succulent with a compact habit, well suited for container growing.

The leaves are mint green, small, and triangular, arranged in opposite pairs. Under strong sunlight, the leaf margins develop reddish tones. The stems can be upright or trailing and, including the flower stems, reach a length of up to about 15 cm, keeping the plant low and neat.

The flowers are small, white to pale pink. They appear in spring in dense terminal clusters and match the delicate overall appearance of the plant.

Crassula Tom Thumb requires a well-draining substrate and a bright position, ideally with plenty of light to enhance leaf coloration. Watering should be moderate and only after the substrate has dried, as it must not remain waterlogged for long periods. Thanks to its small size, it is well suited for small pots and for growing on a windowsill or as part of a succulent collection.
