Crassula sarmentosa is a species of jade plant native to South Africa. The species epithet sarmentosa refers to the long, slender, trailing stems that are characteristic of this plant. In the wild, it occurs along the eastern coastal belt from the Western Cape to central KwaZulu-Natal, where it grows in semi-arid shrubland and grassland, on rocky slopes, cliff faces, and in ravines.

The plant has a loosely branched growth habit and produces long, trailing or creeping shoots that can reach up to about 1 meter in length. The leaves are green to yellow-green, often with a distinct red margin. The stems are reddish-pink to green, sometimes mottled or marked with pale areas, giving the plant a slightly irregular, natural appearance.

The flowers are small and star-shaped, white to cream-colored, rarely with a faint reddish tint. They appear in winter in terminal clusters at the ends of the shoots and form a subtle contrast with the foliage.

This succulent is easy to grow and undemanding. It prefers a bright position, a well-draining substrate, and moderate watering with drying between waterings. Thanks to its trailing growth, it is well suited to hanging containers or raised pots, where the natural form of the shoots can develop freely without the need for intensive care.
