Did you know?

A rare cultivar whose distinctive red leaf streaks stand out beautifully in the sun.

Crassula Red Lips is a cultivated Crassula cultivar grown mainly for its distinctive leaf coloration. It is known primarily from cultivation rather than from a clearly defined natural habitat, and the name “Red Lips” refers to the characteristic coloring along the leaf margins.

The leaves are fleshy, triangular to wedge-shaped, and densely packed on short stems. Their base color is green, while the leaf edges develop red tones that become more pronounced under brighter light. The plant has a compact growth habit and forms low, dense clumps.

The flowers are small, pale pink to whitish, and arranged in compact inflorescences on flowering stems. The buds are visually noticeable before opening, and the inflorescences rise above the foliage.

Crassula Red Lips requires a well-draining substrate and a bright position. Watering should be moderate and only after the substrate has dried, as it must not remain waterlogged for long periods. Thanks to its compact growth and distinctive leaf coloration, it is well suited for smaller containers and collector plantings.
