The succulent is covered with fine scales and hairs. These give it a silvery tinge and colour the leaves whiter shades.

Crassula plegmatoides, also known as Crassula arta, Crassula deltoidea and Crassula pseudocolumnaris, is a small succulent plant that grows on gentle slopes and hilltops. It is usually found in areas with quartzite gravel.

It is characterised by its grey-green leaves that tightly clasp the stem and grow densely tufted. The leaves are usually covered with fine scales and hairs that give them a silvery tinge. The stem of the plant is woody and hidden under a layer of leaves. The older shoots of Crassula plegmatoides partially droop with age. The cane grows 10-15 cm tall and branches rather infrequently.

The flowers are inconspicuous, cream in colour and fade to brown over time. They appear on a thin stem in autumn and winter.

The plant grows slowly, so a small pot is sufficient. When watering, it is important to avoid soaking the leaves as water can cause unsightly rust spots. It delights with its geometrically shaped, curled leaves. Their intermingling and stable shape give the plant a plump appearance that complements the whitish leaf cover.
