The colorful tips of the shoots and darker leaves distinguish this form from the common Crassula muscosa.

Crassula muscosa Fireworks is a cultivar of Crassula muscosa, previously also known as Crassula lycopoides. It is often referred to by the common name Watch Chain Plant, reflecting the distinctive arrangement of its leaves. This succulent originates from southern Africa and has become established through cultivation in other regions, including the Canary Islands. The Fireworks form is characterized by red-tinted leaf tips.

The plant has very small, densely packed leaves that tightly cover the thin stems, creating a rope- or chain-like appearance. The base color is green, while the leaf tips develop red to orange tones, especially under stronger light. The stems branch naturally and may grow upright or trailing, with older parts tending to become woody. The plant typically reaches a height of about 15 to 40 cm.

The flowers are small, bowl-shaped, and rather inconspicuous. They are pale yellow-green to brownish in color and appear during summer, usually singly or in small groups.

For cultivation, a bright position with filtered light or light partial shade is suitable. Strong direct sun can cause yellowing of the leaves. The substrate should be well-draining, and watering should be moderate, allowing the soil to dry between waterings. This succulent tolerates pruning well and can be easily shaped, making Crassula muscosa Fireworks an interesting houseplant for growers who enjoy shaping and training plants.
