Crassula Moonglow
Ideally, place in a sunny location.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter.
It can tolerate temperatures as low as -1.1 °C for short periods. However, the plant is not frost-resistant.
It is one of the first hybrids of the Crassula genus, introduced in 1958 by Johnson Cactus Gardens.
Crassula Moonglow is a hybrid crassula and one of the earliest crosses within the genus Crassula, introduced in 1958 by Johnson Cactus Gardens. It originated from a cross between Crassula deceptor and Crassula perfoliata var. minor (formerly known as Crassula falcata). It is a succulent bred for its regular leaf arrangement and compact growth.
The leaves are grey-green, thick and fleshy, and densely packed in overlapping opposite pairs. The leaf surface has a fine, velvety texture. The plant branches well and can reach a height of about 20 cm, gradually forming a compact clump with age.
The flowers are small and apricot-coloured, appearing after several years of cultivation. They are borne in clusters on a branched terminal inflorescence, usually in late winter and spring.
A well-draining substrate and a bright position are recommended for cultivation. Watering should be moderate, allowing the substrate to dry thoroughly between waterings. This hybrid is suitable for growers looking for a crassula with regular growth and a distinctive leaf structure.
