Crassula cornuta
Ideally, place in a sunny location.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter.
It can withstand temperatures as low as -3.9 °C for short periods. However, the plant is not frost-resistant.
The species name cornuta means "horned" and refers to the shape of the leaves or projections.
Crassula cornuta is a small succulent regarded as a variable form placed under Crassula deceptor. It is a compact-growing crassula with a distinctive arrangement of leaves around the stem.
The leaves are silvery grey, tightly pressed together, and densely arranged so that they almost completely cover the stem. This creates a narrow, column-like form. The plant remains small and usually reaches a height of up to about 15 cm.
The flowers are small, cream to pale pink in colour. They may appear at different times of the year under suitable conditions, most commonly during winter.
For cultivation, a very well-draining substrate and a bright position are recommended. Water carefully, avoid overwatering, and ideally do not water directly onto the leaves. This succulent is suitable for growers who prefer small, compact crassulas with a firm structure.
