Anacampseros filamentosa subsp. tomentosa
The plant likes sunny locations, but can also tolerate partial shade.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter.
It can withstand temperatures as low as -6.7 °C for short periods. However, the plant is not frost-resistant.
This Anacampseros is characterized by fine white fibers that grow between the leaves and give the plant its unmistakable appearance.
Anacampseros filamentosa subsp. tomentosa, also known by the common name Thready Anacampseros, is a small succulent valued for its delicate, hairy appearance and compact growth.
The plant forms low clusters of fleshy stems densely covered with dark green leaves. The leaves are small, reaching up to about 1.3 cm in length, and are coated with a dense layer of fine hairs that give the plant a whitish to silvery look. Overall growth remains low and compact, usually up to around 10 cm in height.
In summer, reddish-purple flowers appear on slender stalks. The flowers can reach up to 3 cm in diameter and are relatively large in proportion to the size of the plant, creating an attractive contrast with the pale, softly hairy foliage.
Anacampseros filamentosa subsp. tomentosa requires a well-draining substrate and a bright position. Watering should be moderate and only after the substrate has dried out. It is a cute, resilient, and undemanding succulent, well suited for small pots and collections of miniature succulents.
