Aeonium Pink Witch cristata
The plant likes sunny locations and partial shade.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter.
It can withstand temperatures down to -3.9 °C for short periods. However, the plant is not frost-resistant.
This cultivar is considered one of the most beautiful hybrids of the genus Aeonium!
Aeonium Pink Witch cristata is a crested form of the hybrid Aeonium Pink Witch. It is believed to have originated as a mutation of the hybrid Aeonium Blushing Beauty. This succulent is known only from cultivation and is valued for its unusual growth form and striking coloration.
The leaves are spoon-shaped with soft, pointed tips and gently ciliate margins. They are arranged in flattened, crest-like rosettes typical of cristate forms. The coloration is variegated in shades of green, white, and pink. During winter, the leaves are mostly green with white outer areas and only a slight pink tint, while in spring and summer the pink tones gradually intensify and reach their most vivid expression. The plant can grow up to approximately 45 cm and forms a flattened, ribbon-like stem.
Flowering has not yet been observed in this cristate form. In aeoniums with pronounced growth mutations, flowering is generally uncommon.
This succulent requires a bright position, a well-draining substrate, and restrained watering with thorough drying between waterings. As a succulent, it responds sensitively to changes in growing conditions, which are directly reflected in the leaf coloration, and with proper care it becomes a distinctive solitary specimen.
