A sunny location is ideal, although the plant also grows well in partial shade. During the warmer months, it can be moved outdoors to a sunny spot.

Water only a few days after the substrate has completely dried out. Reduce watering during winter.

It can briefly tolerate temperatures down to -1.1 °C, but it is not frost hardy.

TIP for you:

Provide as much light as possible to bring out the plant's characteristic leaf markings. In lower light, the dark streaks and pink leaf margins become less pronounced.

Aeonium Mary Anne Kunkel is an attractive cultivar of the genus Aeonium, valued for its unusual leaf markings. Its light green leaves are decorated with distinctive dark longitudinal streaks, giving each rosette a unique appearance.

The plant forms compact rosettes of fleshy, spoon-shaped leaves on branching stems. The leaves are light green to yellowish green with delicate pink margins and characteristic dark burgundy to almost black streaks on the upper surface. The pink edging becomes more pronounced in bright light. As the plant matures, it produces numerous offsets, gradually forming a dense, ornamental clump.

Flowers appear only on mature plants. They are small, star-shaped, and yellow, borne in large branched flower clusters above the rosettes. After flowering, the blooming rosette naturally dies, while the remaining rosettes continue to grow.

Aeonium Mary Anne Kunkel thrives in a very bright location with several hours of direct sunlight each day. It requires a well-draining substrate and moderate watering, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings. During the hottest part of summer, growth may slow as the plant enters partial dormancy. Its distinctive leaf pattern and easy cultivation make it an attractive addition to any succulent collection.
