Did you know?

This cultivar has bright green leaves, which are its main distinguishing feature.

Aeonium Lily Pad was created by hybridization between Aeonium bethencourtianum and Aeonium lindleyi. It is a horticultural hybrid within the genus Aeonium, grown for its distinctive rosette shape and strong leaf coloration typical of plants originating from the Macaronesian region.

The plant forms flat, open rosettes of thick, fleshy leaves with a bright green color. When grown in full sun, older leaves develop attractive shades of orange and yellow, adding noticeable color variation to the plant. The growth habit is that of a succulent shrub, which can reach a height of around 30 cm.

After several years of cultivation, each mature rosette usually produces a flowering stem in spring. The stem carries yellow to orange, star-shaped flowers that are visually prominent. After flowering, the individual rosette gradually dies back, which is a normal and expected trait of the genus Aeonium.

It prefers a bright location with plenty of light, a well-draining substrate, and careful watering without excess moisture. Fertilization is not necessary, and over time it is advisable to repot the plant into a larger container to allow adequate root development. Its vivid green coloration makes it an appealing choice for growers who value distinctive foliage.
