Aeonium Halloween
The plant likes sunny locations, but can also tolerate partial shade.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter.
It can withstand temperatures down to -1.1 °C for short periods. However, the plant is not frost-resistant.
It reaches its darkest tones on cooler nights and in full sunlight.
Aeonium Halloween is a hybrid that does not occur in the wild and was bred for its distinctive growth habit and colour changes. It is characterised by concentric rosettes and belongs to cultivars that show their best colouring when exposed to strong light combined with cooler nights.
The plant forms compact rosettes of olive-green leaves. The leaves are spoon-shaped with fine cilia along the margins and develop bronze to darker tones in strong sunlight. At an early age, Aeonium Halloween often produces rings of side offsets and quickly forms an attractive clump. It has a firm trunk and usually reaches a height of up to about 50 cm.
Flowering has not yet been observed in this hybrid, and it is therefore grown primarily for the shape of its rosettes and the seasonal colour variation of the foliage.
Aeonium Halloween is a resilient and easy-to-grow cultivar best suited to a sunny position. It can be grown outdoors during summer, where it develops its deepest colours. A well-drained substrate is essential, allowing the soil to dry between waterings, and fertilising is not necessary. Thanks to its rapid offsetting and striking appearance, it is an excellent choice for growers looking for a bold Aeonium for their collection.
