Did you know?

The name Bronze Medal was inspired by the typical color of the rosette, which resembles metal with a bronze sheen.

Aeonium Bronze Medal variegata is a variegated cultivar of the genus Aeonium grown exclusively in cultivation. The exact origin of this plant is not documented, but the structure of the rosettes and the overall growth habit suggest a relationship to Aeonium sedifolium.

The leaves are green with creamy variegation, sticky, and marked with irregular wine-red spots. During summer dormancy, their coloration changes to darker bronze tones. The leaves form compact rosettes up to 10 cm in diameter. The plant has a dense growth habit and can gradually reach a height of around 45 cm, forming a small shrub.

The flowers are star-shaped, light yellow, and appear in dense clusters on leafy stems in spring. This cultivar is monocarpic, so the rosette that flowers dies after blooming.

Cultivation requires a well-draining substrate and a bright position. Watering should be adjusted to the plant’s growth phase, and care should be taken to ensure that the substrate does not remain waterlogged for long periods. Thanks to its easy cultivation and distinctive coloration, it works well in containers as well as in group plantings, where it maintains a clear and compact appearance.
