Did you know?

It was created from the same breeding cross as Aeonium Velour.

Aeonium Blushing Beauty is a hybrid bred by Jack Catlin, created from a cross between Aeonium canariense and Aeonium arboreum ‘Zwartkopf’. It is a succulent that is a sibling of the cultivar Aeonium Velour and belongs among the larger, shrub-like aeoniums.

At the ends of its branches, it forms rosettes of colored leaves. The leaves are light green with red highlights, which intensify under mild stress from full sun or drier conditions. The plant can reach a height of up to about 90 cm and gradually becomes strongly branched.

In spring, yellow star-shaped flowers appear in clusters on a stem emerging from the center of the rosette. After flowering, individual rosettes die back, while offsets form at the base, allowing the plant to continue growing.

For cultivation, a well-draining substrate and a bright position are suitable. Watering should be moderate, allowing the substrate to dry between waterings. Fertilizing is not necessary, as the plant grows well without it. After repotting into a larger container, it responds with very rapid growth, making it an easy and striking succulent for larger spaces.
