Puna

The cactus genus Puna originates from high-altitude regions of the Andes in Argentina and Bolivia. It includes small, often cushion-forming species adapted to cold and dry conditions. The plants have short stems with dense spination that protects them from low temperatures and strong sunlight. In nature, they grow on rocky sites at high elevations. In cultivation, Puna requires bright light, cooler winter conditions, and a very well-drained substrate.
