Begonia
The genus Begonia includes a highly diverse group of plants native mainly to tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas, Africa, and Asia. It comprises species grown for ornamental foliage as well as flowering types, with herbaceous, shrubby, or tuberous growth forms. Leaves are often asymmetrical, with prominent venation and varied surface textures. Begonias prefer bright positions without direct sunlight, even watering, and an airy, humus-rich substrate. Most species are sensitive to waterlogging and low temperatures.
